Dr Constant Nel completed his medical degree at the University of the Free State in 1986 and then worked as a General Practitioner. In 1991 he enrolled at the Department of Oncology in Bloemfontein and completed his Degree in Radiation and Clinical Oncology in 1995.
He founded Cachet-Nel in 1995 and has been serving the central parts of South Africa since, with a special interest in prostate cancer. He has treated more than 2000 early stage patients with brachytherapy and is considered an expert in this field.
Dr Brent Green completed his medical degree at the University of the Free State in 2003 and then worked in the rural Free State as part of his community service. In 2007 he enrolled at the Department of Oncology in Bloemfontein and completed his Degree in Radiation and Clinical Oncology in 2010.
He joined Cachet-Nel in 2011 and has been serving the central parts of South Africa since, with a special interest in lymphoma and genito-urinary malignancies.
Dr Antoinette Lion-Cachet completed her MB Ch B at Pretoria University in 1972. Her houseman year was done at Welkom Hospital.
She then worked part-time in her own practice, doing mostly obstetrics, paediatrics, and anaesthetics; and also a few years as part-time district surgeon in Welkom. She obtained her MFGP (SA) from College of Medicine in 1982.
She started as registrar in Oncology in 1986 and completed her Masters Degree in Radiation Oncology in 1990, doing a bi-weekly clinic in Welkom in this capacity.
In 1995 she founded Cachet-Nel Inc and has been traveling to Welkom weekly ever since. Her special interests at present are breast and colorectal cancers.
Dr Thomas Erasmus graduated MB Ch B in 2000 from the University of the Free State . He specialized in Oncology in 2008 at the same University. He joined Alberts, Bouwer & Jordaan practice in 2008 where he worked in the Klerksdorp/ Potchefstroom area for 4 years.
He relocated to Bloemfontein and joined the Cachet-Nel practice in 2012.
He has a special interest in treating breast cancer, lymphomas and urogenital cancers.
Dr Katie Yazbek is a general practitioner. She qualified from the UFS in 1999 and completed her internship and community service in Bloemfontein and Mpumalanga. While working at 3 Military Hospital from 2002 to 2006 she completed an MBA in Health Care Management.
From 2006 to 2021 she worked first as a casualty officer and later as a general practitioner at Bloemfontein Mediclinic.
She joined Cachet-Nel Oncology in 2021 to enhance the multi-disciplinary team and provide continuity and coordination of patient care.
